ABOUT
Maram Hassan Al-Zaidi is a Sydney-based sculptor and graduate of the National Art School. Working across sculpture and mixed media, her practice explores themes of memory, transformation, resilience, and human connection through clay, steel, and organic form.
Inspired by the movement of water, shifting landscapes, and personal journeys across sea and land, her work exists between fragility and strength, stillness and change. Through textured surfaces and sculptural forms, she investigates the emotional language of materials and the traces experience leaves behind.
Clay becomes a vessel for memory and transformation, while steel reflects endurance, resistance, and adaptability. Organic textures, fractured surfaces, and flowing forms echo rhythms of erosion, time, and nature.
Her experience navigating language and cultural transition has deepened her understanding of art as a universal form of communication. Through sculpture, she creates spaces where emotion, memory, and identity can be felt beyond words.
Each work forms part of an evolving narrative, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences of change, connection, and transformation.
